Dragon Daycare
Character(s): Rey, Strange, & too many dragons
Status: Closed
Location(s): Strange's House
Date(s) Late May
About: Rey has too many dragons and she & Strange have a lot to talk about.
Warnings: discussions of past character death and murderings of mutated dragonborn werewolves.
It's nervewracking navigating around and through Didymos with a sack full of unhappy dragonets tucked under an over-sized jacket she shouldn't probably need anymore, but Rey is used to slipping in and out of places she shouldn't be with things she isn't supposed to have. Thorn travels ahead of her in the shadows, sending warnings back to Rey about who to avoid and what paths to take. When she gets to the place Strange indicated she should be heading for, she keeps close to the door, knocking to alert Strange.
"Thorn, no!" Her hushed whisper is sharp as the armadillo lizard melts back into the shadows, trying to sneak his way into the house. She drops down to a crouch, holding the bundle of softly whining dragonets to her chest and trying to peer under the small slit of shadowy ground between the door and the foundation. "Get back out here." She isn't sure if he even made it inside or is just lurking in her shadow, but either way, his new ability is going to get them both in trouble, and his response is the mental equivalent of an eye roll.

fifty bajillion dragons
"Did you drop something?"
His animas, Bell the hare, and his dragon, Alistair Tourmaline the slightly chunky boy, are inside. Bell is hanging out in the main living area, Alistair is making his way to the entrance. And hopefully Thorn's in Rey's shadow because if that lizard pops up from one of those shadows inside of Strange's house, Alistair is straight up going to try and tackle him.

"Just him, but it looks like he's okay." She hadn't dropped him, and she's not sure if Strange will have noticed the lizard just emerged from his dragonet's shadow. Her focus is caught up in the odd-looking dragonet, unlike any of her trio. There's an immediate impulse to pet him. Tearing her eyes from the spectacle she looks at Strange, too fascinated and curious to linger on her discomfort or her annoyance with Thorn.
The squirming bundle of dragons is threatening to get free, though, and she glances to the left and right before asking,
"Can we come in?"

Strange did not notice the lizard emerging from the shadow. To nobody's surprise, he's focusing on the squirming bundle of dragons Rey has. Good gods, there had to be two or three of them in there. That's perfect for him to study!
"Of course," he answers, moving out of the way. Once Rey and the dragons are inside, he closes and locks the door behind them. "How many of them are there?"

On the floor there's an odd sound from the lizard ball that only makes it seem more fun, most likely, but while he rolls a few feet away his hard, jagged spines are a lot less pleasant to hit than the surface of the ball.
As the door shuts and the creatures in Rey's sack hear the familiar sounds of a frustrated Thorn, themovement inside becomes much more excited. The first to escape is Amphitrite, who scampers her way up Rey's chest and onto the top of her shoulder, one long claw hooked in Rey's hair. Her beaked face turns this way and that, inspecting the new surroundings that are very different from the caves she is used to. She stops to study Strange with bright orange eyes and clicks her teeth a few times, her long tail hanging down over Rey's shoulder and almost all the way back into the sack.
Following her lead, a black black dragonet with flexible scales that stuck out like puffed up feathers slips into view above the edge of the sack, only a dark pair of eyes and horns visible as he quickly looks around once before dipping back in. All in one shadowy mass he leaps out of the sack, half-gliding, half-tumbling to the floor and running for Thorn and the other dragonet there in a bounding motion. He tackles both of them with his wings out like a blanket.
Rey watches with apprehension, getting ready to intervene, but Thorn unrolls and smacks Pricus a few times on the nose with a reptilian grumble and the dragonet folds his wings and makes some grumbling sounds of his own, protesting being chided. Seeing that there doesn't seem to be any immediate danger Rey will reach into the sack, letting it drop when she has the pale white-scaled Ruby in her hands.
All three of them are around the same size, close to that of peregrine falcons, and all three are wyverns. Ruby squirms until she can escape to go join Pricus and Alistair over by thorn, but Amphy stretches her wings out, rocking back and forth on her hind legs on Rey's shoulder before launching herself, trying to fly to Strange but only awkwardly jumping and smacking into him. Her long claws grab for purchase on his clothes and she curiously shoves her face right up into his, chirping at him and tilting her head back and forth. He is only the third person she has ever met and his hair reminds her of Kylo's but she can tell this isn't him.
Rey watches all three of them nervously, uncertain of how her wild collection of hungry dragonets will take to the strangers, but disaster and fighting doesn't seem to be instantly breaking out, even if both Pricus and Ruby seem to be trying to circle or close in on Alistair their body language isn't the same as when they hunt bugs together. It's confused and curious and they both make questioning chirps at the strange, short-nosed dragonet.
"She keeps jumping off of things. They fight sometimes when they get hungry and they're starting to get bigger than Thorn can keep up with. I'm trying to teach them to work together."

Alistair's met other dragons that don't look like him before, he just hasn't met this many of them at once. Unfortunately, he isn't good at running and gets smacked when Pricus tackles him. He's been tackled before, so Alistair gets back up on his feet. He's not running scared as Pricus and Ruby close in on him, but he is on the defensive. He lets out a low whine of a trill as they chirp at him and looks up at Strange and Rey with the dragon equivalent of puppy dog eyes.
"They're beautiful," Strange responds, with a grin. He's in a room with four dragons! He can die right now, this is the happiest he's ever been since his resurrection. "But you're probably stressed to hell and backâthree dragons! I can't believe you brought three dragons!" This is awesome!
"Do you want a drink? Or maybe something to eat, to calm the nerves?"
