There's a pause before he answers. On the one hand, he knows she won't like the answer. On the other hand, Strange firmly believe that given the chance, it's better to know than not know. It's a difficult question but after a moment, he answers.

"I think so," he says, with a little nod. "If only because I suspect you're imagining it as worse than it is. I looked in that mirror and saw something that could help confirm my theories. Others would see what I saw, but interpret it as something different."
