After Krimnos, after going home to see naught but remains, there is a sort of joy in going out and doing this kind of work. It's as close to Alucard's old life has he has gotten since this all began, and perhaps that means he is overdoing it. He saved up to buy tiny shovels for God's sake, and between that and spending about half an hour floating over the skeleton to draw it from overhead (and then landing to try and figure out the depths of what is under all of the clay earth), he's...having a good time.
Which also means that any statements like Strange's are going to be responded to with a little too much flippancy.
