It's a less strange truth than many others.

[For example, being dragged back from the dead. Having souls running around as animals instead of acting as souls ought to be. (Whatever that is. Metaphysics guest starred on Alucard's lesson plan growing up.) A million other things.

But is strangeness the point? Of course it isn't. The point is what little, horrible things about oneself that get shared when light is shed on them. In Laualae's words, there is a potential double meaning, and that gives Alucard some pause. (It will not turn to pity, in spite of the fact that it is often a reaction he has when he hears what others of his sort have lived with.)]
